Free NEET coaching from a Delhi tea stall: 3 years, 12 medical admissions

Free NEET coaching from a Delhi tea stall: 3 years, 12 medical admissions

I studied economics at Delhi University but ran my father’s tea stall after his stroke. Every evening, three or four school children from the neighbourhood would sit on the plastic chairs pretending to study. I noticed they had textbooks but no one to explain them.

I began by teaching NCERT Class 11 biology for two hours after the evening rush. Free. No fee ever. Two rules only: attendance had to be daily, and one student had to teach the previous day’s lesson to the next batch.

The syllabus I follow is the free NEET syllabus on the NTA website. YouTube channels like Physics Wallah do most of the teaching. My job is to hold attendance, ask questions, and refuse to accept the answer “I didn’t understand.”

Twelve students have cleared NEET across three batches. Two are now in AIIMS. All twelve are first-generation medical students. Not one paid a rupee for coaching.

What I would tell anyone thinking of starting: your credential does not matter. Your consistency does. Two hours a day, six days a week, three years. That is it.

Can you replicate this?

What you need to do this where you live

  • Anyone with two hours a day and a public space (chai stall, temple courtyard, garage)
  • Budget: ₹0 — syllabus and video content are free
  • Time: 3-year cycle to first Class 12 board / NEET result
